Then, in July of 2014, Ariana was with Naomi Natalya Eva Marie Rosa Mendes Summer Rae to take on Nikki Bella in a six-on-one handicap contest. However, she was there only to attack Nikki Bella as well as Naomi. At the Battleground show, Ariana was in a match with Naomi. Ariana was able to defeat Naomi during that battle. Their rivalry developed as a result. Over the course of summer, they competed at handicapped match singles and tag teams.
